Global event management and solutions firm AlliedPRA has acquired Briggs, a New York City-based event and destination management company.
The acquisition is intended to help AlliedPRA grow and expand its reach in the competitive NYC marketplace.
Briggs President Anthony Napoli will continue to lead the Briggs team under the Briggs brand, now owned and operated as an AlliedPRA Company.

The Corporate Event Marketing Association (CEMA) provides a community for senior-level strategic event marketers and industry professionals to share their knowledge and best-practices.
Launched in 1990 as an association for corporate exhibit managers in high-tech, its acronym encompassed several meanings throughout the early years. Business Events Canada (BEC) recently launched a new website designed to attract international meetings, conventions and incentive events to Canada and its myriad event and tourism destinations.
Supported by BEC’s content team, the digital hub is geared toward U.S., U.K. and international meeting and event planners and decision-makers.
According to BEC officials, more than 8,000 international conferences are held across Canada each year.

Event producers and planners have been reducing giveaway volume for years. Before the term “corporate social responsibility” was coined, there already was a push for “green” meetings, aka, those that were less wasteful and kinder to the environment.
But make no mistake, coupled with the desire for more sustainable events is the ever-present desire to cut the costs of producing them.
