The Association for Women in Events (AWE) executive committee and board are now accepting applications for the association’s 2019 board term.  Women and men in the events industry are encouraged to apply. Current AWE membership is not required, however non-members who are appointed to the board will be required to join upon the start of their term. The Association for Women in Events (AWE), a not-for-profit organization supporting gender equality and diversity in the event industry, has launched 2018 nominations for its Hall of Fame Recognition Program, hosted by the AWE Awards Committee. “Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is a lifetime honor,” said Marie-Claire Andrews, AWE board member and chair of the AWE Awards Committee. “It doesn’t begin and end with a simple recognition, rather our winners will be part of our community and celebrated long-term!” This is the program’s second year. The Association for Women in Events (AWE) is an inclusive community dedicated to the professional advancement of women in all facets of the events industry. AWE was founded in 2015 by five women who are also event professionals: Carrie Abernathy, CMP, CEM, CSP; Mary Higham, CEM; Tamela Blalock, MBA, CMP, DES; Mas Tadesse and Kiki Janssens Fox.
