Enterprise event management company Cvent, Inc., has announced that it will acquire mobile event app provider QuickMobile. The acquisition is expected to close before the end of May 2018.
The addition of QuickMobile's technology will help Cvent expand its Event Cloud Platform's mobile capabilities, providing mobile apps for events of all sizes.
Together, the organizations will:
Serve more than 25,500 customers, including 80% of the Fortune 100
Deliver 16.7 million app downloads
Offer over 950 product support professionals to ensure customer success

The Galt House, Louisville’s largest hotel, is joining the Trademark Collection by Wyndham as an independently owned soft-branded property.
The flagship hotel, which will begin a $80 million renovation this June, will be Wyndham Hotel Group’s largest single addition in North America.
Galt House Hotel is the largest downtown meeting, convention, and conference hotel in the region, with 1,310 guest rooms and 130,000 sq. ft. of event space that can host meetings of up to 3,000 attendees.

A new event registration service specifically designed for small to mid-tier events is now available from Core-apps.
The new Core-apps Badger Registration Service was built for events ranging in size from 25-2500 attendees and is tailored to corporate meetings, educational conferences and smaller shows that do not have a large expo presence.

There is a lot of preparation going on in Japan for the Olympics, which will be held in Tokyo in 2020. In addition to new hotels and venues that will expand the many existing options for events, transportation infrastructure will be transformed. May 25, 2018 is the day that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes into effect. The GDPR provides EU citizens specific privacy rights regarding the collection, storage, transfer and use of their personally identifiable information. Non-compliance with the GDPR may result in significant fines and penalties of “up to €20 million, or 4% of the worldwide annual revenue of the prior financial year, whichever is higher,” according to the GDPR’s regulation 2016/679.

The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA) Board of Directors has appointed global entertainment and convention venue management company, SMG, to oversee operations at Reno-Sparks’ major convention and entertainment facilities.
The four-year operating agreement includes the RSCVA-owned Reno-Sparks Convention Center (RSCC), the state-owned Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center (RSLEC), as well as the Reno Events Center (REC) and the National Bowling Stadium (NBS), which are both owned by the City of Reno.
