Six Event Industry Conferences You Won’t Want to Miss

April 24, 2018

There is a plethora of industry events every year, but with limited budgets and busy schedules, it’s impossible to attend all of them. The Corporate Event News team has curated a short list of upcoming U.S.-based events that our own team plans (or hopes) to attend.

Note: This is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all the great events out there for event professionals – even we can’t be at all of them!

MPI World Education Congress (WEC) – June 2-5, Indianapolis, IN

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) is the largest meeting and event industry association worldwide. Founded in 1972, MPI provides innovative and relevant education, networking opportunities and business exchanges, and acts as a prominent voice for the promotion and growth of the industry. WEC delivers premier education, business and networking opportunities for meeting and event planners.

Haute Dokimazo – June 24-26, Minneapolis, MN

Haute Dokimazo is like no other conference you've experienced as an event industry professional. There are no keynotes, no breakout sessions, and no expo. Open to just 100 attendees, the conference follows a model that is a hybrid of traditional and participant-led, peer-to-peer engagement. Read our 2017 write-up on the event’s history here.

CEMA Summit 2018 – July 22-24, Ranchos Palos Verdes, CA

The Corporate Event Marketing Association (CEMA) advances strategic event marketing and marketing communications for senior-level event marketers and industry professionals. At CEMA Summit, you’ll gain the knowledge, insights and tools you need to thrive in the rapidly evolving event marketing industry.

ILEA Live – August 16-18, Denver, CO

The International Live Events Association (ILEA) is a global community of creative event professionals whose skills, expertise and experience power some of the most influential live events around the world. ILEA Live 2018 brings together event professionals for an educational event focused on empowering creativity, building business, and inspiring new thought.

IMEX America – October 16-18, Las Vegas, NV

IMEX is a worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events. The event brings together meeting and event professionals from a wide range of disciplines and sectors. If you're a meeting and events professional, you'll find all the suppliers you need for your events—from new venues in major cities across the world to the latest event tech providers.

SPINCon 2018 – November 11-13, St. Petersburg, FL

The Senior Planners Industry Network (SPIN), is the only network of senior-level meeting and event professionals in North America.
