Lion Square Lodge at the Gondola, Vail Colorado, Completes $1.25 Million Meeting Room Renovation

October 11, 2018

Lion Square Lodge has completed the $1.25 million meeting space renovation it began in May.

The property’s newly renovated meeting and event space has been tailored to meet the needs of businesses, offering five meeting rooms and more than 5,000 square feet of flexible event space that can accommodate groups of 10 upwards to 200. Two of the five rooms offer floor-to-ceiling windows and walkout balcony space overlooking Vail Mountain.

State-of-the-art technology capabilities, from high-speed internet and USB hook-ups to a brand new sound system, add even more corporate appeal, said Bill Anderson, vice president Western US, Wyndham Vacation Rentals.

Upgrades and enhancements include:

  • New decorative ceilings, including new LED lighting and wall sconces
  • Sound mitigation in the ceiling above the Gore Creek/Columbine rooms
  • Upgraded IT and AV systems installed in the meeting rooms
  • Improvements to both above- and underground parking, including heated above ground parking to eliminate ice and snow buildup in the lot outside the lobby entrance

New carpeting, wood trim, furniture and artwork tie the space together with a mountain theme.

Anderson described Lion Square Lodge as offering a “fresh mountain experience” for planners and guests, inspired by Vail’s natural beauty.

“Sitting right at the base of Vail Mountain, Lion Square Lodge is a great choice for corporate meetings,” he said.  “The stunning space spotlights views of Vail Mountain and Gore Creek right outside, and staff can coordinate all the details from meetings and activities to catering and events, helping to make your gathering a success.”

In Summer 2017, Lion Square Lodge enhanced its wedding space, investing $250,000 in reshaping its Gore Creek Lawn and adding a wedding terrace to host scenic ceremonies. The property also added a new walkway and staircase to access the event lawn, along with built-in, easy-to-access electricity and water.

Lion Square Lodge accommodations range from private hotel rooms to deluxe condominiums.  Lion Square Lodge, Condominiums and Lodge Rooms are privately owned and managed by Wyndham Vacation Rentals.

“Attendees can enjoy world-class comfort and experience the best of Vail during group activities or downtime,” Anderson said.

He continued, “The lodge’s spacious condos offer just the place to relax, along with access to a host of onsite amenities, like ski-in/ski-out access, a restaurant, a pool, hot tubs, a dry sauna, a state-of-the-art fitness center and more. Vail itself is full of things to do too, from some of North America’s best skiing and snowboarding to shopping, dining and entertainment.”

Lion Square Lodge is located two hours from Denver International Airport and 40 minutes from Vail/Eagle Airport, at the base of Vail Mountain and Gore Creek.
