Hilton Partners With Lyft to Provide Hilton Honors Points

May 16, 2019

Hard on the heels of Uber’s vouchers offering launch, Hilton has announced a new travel and hospitality partnership with rideshare provider Lyft. Now, Hilton Honors members will be able to earn points for riding with Lyft within the United States and Canada.

This partnership may make Hilton even more attractive for planners looking to keep their attendees within the host hotel or room block. Hotel brand loyalty is a powerful tool, as meeting attendees will often choose where to stay based on loyalty status and points earned.

“What makes this partnership unique and different is the combination of two industry-leading brands,” said Mark Weinstein, senior vice president and global head of customer engagement, loyalty and partnerships at Hilton.

David Baga, chief business officer at Lyft, noted that from the moment Lyft riders link accounts, they will have the ability to earn Hilton Honors Points for every ride.

“Whether taking a Lyft to a meeting or out to dinner, we want to make it easy to reward riders for each trip they take,” Baga said.

Hilton Honors members can link their Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts online. Linked accounts will earn 3X Points for every dollar spent on economy, luxury and extra seat Lyft rides, and 2X Points for every $1 on Shared Lyft rides. Already a Hilton Honors member but not yet a Lyft user? If you sign up using the Hilton Honors link, you’ll get a Lyft credit for $5 off your first three rides.

Weinstein stated that Hilton Honors members will soon have the ability to redeem Hilton Honors Points for Lyft credits in addition to earning them - a first-of-its-kind integration for the hospitality industry.

“This partnership allows us to reward members for riding with Lyft every day, not just when they travel,” Weinstein said. “We look forward to unlocking new ways to create an even more effortless travel experience.”

Lyft ride prices/payments that are eligible to earn Hilton Honors Points includes base fare charges but excludes taxes, fees, tolls and tips. Customers may earn Points on up to $10,000 of eligible Lyft spend per calendar year.
