The Countdown to CEMA Summit 2019: T-Minus 3 Weeks
CEMA Summit 2019 is less than three weeks away! Not registered yet? You still have time to join 300 of your peers from July 21-23 at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas — and if you work directly for a client-side brand, you don’t even have to be a CEMA member to attend (although we recommend you consider joining).
The Corporate Event Marketing Association offers senior-level strategic event marketers and industry professionals a welcoming community for sharing knowledge and best practices. And I use the term “welcoming” first-hand, after attending last year’s CEMA Summit.
Prior to the event, each CEMA board member serves as an ambassador for a group of first-time registrants, reaching out to connect with them via email. A gathering for VIP first-timers and ambassadors prior to the main opening reception helps ensure that no one — not even the most introverted attendees in the bunch (yours truly included) — feels left out.
One of CEMA’s differentiators is a non-selling, peer-to-peer environment. That doesn’t mean there aren’t supplier members, or won’t be suppliers at the Summit — but conversations among participants at CEMA events are about knowledge sharing, learning and relationship building, no sales pitches allowed. It’s a guarantee you’ll have opportunities to meet many senior corporate event professionals willing to share their expertise, recommendations and ideas with you.
Learning experiences are front and center, and this year’s agenda includes an impressive lineup of speakers. From content marketing leaders like Contently founder Shane Show and Marketing Showrunners founder Jay Acunzo, to Manchester United’s director of partnerships and senior event professionals representing some of the largest brands in the world, the only challenge for you is going to be choosing which breakouts to attend.
Of course, no event for industry pros is complete without fun, and CEMA Summit has that in spades. In addition to the welcome reception and closing dinner, you have your pick of afternoon networking activities, such as an international wine tasting, battle of the bands, or giving back by stuffing backpacks with school supplies for local at-risk and homeless youth. Monday night features a range of dinner and entertainment offerings hosted by several local hotels and suppliers.
