Circa Resort and The Cromwell Open in Las Vegas; Virgin Hotel Coming in January

November 17, 2020

With its convention center expansion on track for completion by the end of the year and hotels continuing to open, Las Vegas keeps improving its ability to host events. This fall, the city debuted two adults-only properties, Circa Resort & Casino and The Cromwell, with the new Virgin Hotels Las Vegas scheduled to open in January. Here’s what to expect from each.

Circa Resort & Casino

The first new resort-casino to be built from the ground up in downtown Las Vegas in four decades, the 1.25 million-square-foot Circa Resort & Casino opened its first five floors and parking hub — called the Garage Mahal — on Oct. 28. Circa’s 777-room hotel tower is scheduled to open on Dec. 28. Topping the 35-story tower will be a rooftop pool and lounge area called Stadium Swim that can be booked for events. The new adults-only resort-casino was designed to pay homage to the golden era of Las Vegas through vintage elements — including the iconic Vegas Vickie neon artwork — while also providing guests with high-tech amenities.

The Cromwell

Located across from Caesars Palace, The Cromwell opened its doors on Oct. 29 — the final Caesars Entertainment property to reopen on the Las Vegas Strip. The Cromwell offers attendees a boutique hotel experience while also providing easy access to Caesars Forum Conference Center, which has two of the world’s largest pillar-less ballrooms and a 100,000-sq.-ft. outdoor event plaza. The Cromwell is also home to Drai’s Lounge and GIADA,  the restaurant from celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis (which, unlike the rest of the hotel and casino, is open to guests of all ages). Both are available for group events.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas (formerly the Hard Rock Resort & Casino) is planning its grand opening date for Jan. 15, 2021. Once open, the resort — part of Curio Collection by Hilton — will feature 1,504 guest rooms, 60,000 square feet of casino space and five acres of outdoor space that will be part of the pool and entertainment complex. The Promenade and Event Lawn part of the complex are scheduled to open with the rest of the hotel on Jan. 15, with the resort pool itself expected to open in March 2021.
