ASM Global Kicks Off 'Global Month of Giving'

To create a collective effort demonstrating its commitment to the people and places where it operates, ASM Global launched its first "Global Month of Giving," which provides opportunities for team members internationally to dedicate their time, talent and “treasure” through volunteering, giving back and engaging in local community initiatives.

“ASM Global operates hundreds of stadiums, convention centers and arenas around the globe, which boost local economies, employ area residents and provide meaningful opportunities for the communities we call home,” said Ron Bension, president and CEO of ASM Global. “Our 'Global Month of Giving' represents our shared intention to make a difference in the lives of others around the world."

The unveiling marks the one-year anniversary of ASM Global Acts, the company's bold new sustainability and equity program to protect the environment, invest in people and strengthen communities around the globe. In 2021, the company also announced the ASM Global Acts Foundation to support philanthropic and community-based endeavors guided by its sustainability and diversity pillars, in addition to the ASM Global Acts Scholarship, which focuses on serving diverse and under-resourced communities with educational and career-development opportunities.

Aligned with many of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the new “ASM Global Month of Giving” is an extension of ASM Global’s longstanding commitments to creating a better workplace and a more diverse workforce, serving the communities where it operates, and contributing to a healthier environment and planet.

The execution of these commitments will happen at both the corporate and local level, creating value at scale within communities, according to Bension.

“Building strong, vibrant communities requires commitments that extend beyond the walls of our venues," Bension said. "We bring that to life by giving back and investing in organizations that are making both the world and our local communities a better place to live, work and play.”

The company's broad goals and commitments under ASM Global Acts include three pillars:

  • Protect the Environment: Reduce waste from the guest experience across its venues​, enhance facility efficiency through capital investments, and protect and preserve resources in and around its communities.
  • Invest in People: Create an environment of inclusion and gender equity across its organization, grow the diversity of its business partners around the world,​ and enable opportunities for its current and future workforce.
  • Strengthen Communities: Engage in improving the vitality of its communities​, increase philanthropic support through meaningful efforts, and enhance the health and well-being of its coworkers, clients and guests.
