Following the unprecedented growth and momentum of its open source Llama collection of models and tools, Meta announced it is launching LlamaCon, its first-ever developer conference dedicated to generative AI that will take place on April 29. The company also announced its 12th annual developer conference, Meta Connect, will be held September 17-18. Meta did not announce the location of either of the conferences, but they will likely be held in person at the company’s headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., and online. Additional details will be made available soon, said Meta.

At LlamaCon, Meta said it will share the latest on its “open source AI developments to help developers do what they do best: build amazing apps and products, whether as a start-up or at scale.” Meta recently said that it would spend as much as $65 billion this year to expand its AI infrastructure
