Newly Reopened Westin Carlsbad and Sheraton Carlsbad Bring New Direction for Corporate Events

August 31, 2018

While a reopening of one hotel is always interesting, the reopening of two sister properties is doubly so. The adjacent Westin Carlsbad Resort and Spa and Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa recently reopened after extensive renovations, offering new opportunities for corporate events.

“These hotels each stand on their own or can be combined for an event that will set the bar for your organization,” said Katie Goldberg, marketing manager for the Westin Carlsbad Resort and Spa and Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa.

“Each property has distinct features that provide many options to event managers to plan a memorable meeting or event,” she added.

The Sheraton Carlsbad offers 169 guest rooms in total: 48 suites and 121 king and queen rooms, and provides several options for small meetings with its 19,000 square feet of flexible indoor/outdoor meeting space.

The Terramar Ballroom provides 1,344 sq. ft. of space that extends into a beautiful outdoor terrace, ideal for capitalizing on the Southern California climate.

The Westerly Commons corridor provides a gathering space with firepits to stay warm in the evening. Several guest suites have patio spaces joining this corridor, so smaller intimate gatherings in a guest suite can easily mingle with a larger outdoor space.

Because of the ease of inside flowing into outside space at the Sheraton Carlsbad, a corporate event or sales meeting with both day and evening activities would be a great fit for this property.

The hotel’s 7 Mile restaurant, named after the number of miles of Carlsbad Pacific coastline, provides an array of creative cocktails, wood fire pizza and other signature dishes.

“Our idea at 7 Mile is to take the ordinary and make it extraordinary,” said Leah Fisher, 7 Mile assistant food & beverage outlets manager.

She continued, “In our new wood fire oven, our handcrafted pizza can be cooked in about 3 minutes. We provide shareable bites that can be used for a cocktail hour at a corporate event. We also have elevated foods, such as gourmet burgers and local gelato. We envision 7 Mile becoming an addition to a corporate event with great food and breathtaking views.”

The Westin Carlsbad, with 208 guest rooms, can easily house a corporate event group. Several rooms have two-bedroom suites and include a parlor to connect them, making this an ideal choice if your event provides opportunity for family to join.

The Westin Carlsbad introduces natural elements into the property space. The views of the panoramic coast are the backdrop to several spaces perfect for larger events.

Outdoor set up at Sheraton CarlsbadThe Grandview Terrace and Atrium meeting spaces provide over 12,000 sq. ft. of space. In addition, the Water Tower rooftop is the perfect place to host a gathering of up to 250 guests to watch the sun set over the Pacific.

If your event provides opportunity for family to participate, the two pools can create a great area for family to gather and enjoy the wonderful California weather. And if the family is looking to entertain themselves while your event is taking place, they can take advantage of the resort’s private entrance to Legoland for a day of fun.

“Our commitment is to provide unmatched hospitality to your event, no matter which property is chosen,” said Goldberg.

She added, “Whether you want to have a private event on the rooftop at the Westin Carlsbad or a space that allows movement from inside to out at the Sheraton Carlsbad, we have a great space. And if you are looking for strictly corporate or a family-friendly event, we have a great space.”

The Westin Carlsbad and Sheraton Carlsbad offer 75,000 sq. ft. of combined and flexible indoor/outdoor conference space, rooms that provide both standard hotel space or two-bedroom suites, food and beverage options to make your event fresh and coastal views that provide the perfect backdrop to any event. Together or separately, the two renovated properties offer a new direction in corporate event venues with plenty of possibilities for your next event.
