New ProgramBook Mobile App Digitizes Event Content

February 14, 2020

Event organizers seeking another digital alternative to printing thousands of program books for conferences and events now have a more cost-effective option. Application and review software platform company OpenWater has unveiled ProgramBook, a mobile app that transforms printed content including abstracts, sessions and author information into a searchable mobile companion available for both Android and iOS devices.

Designed to help organizations organize and manage their annual meetings, conferences and events, the new app allows event organizers and attendees to view all meeting or conference materials in one user-friendly place. Features include informational pages, scheduling and itinerary, important contacts and digital business cards. A built-in EShow compatible name tag scanner allows attendees to scan and take notes on any contacts they meet at the conference.

“ProgramBook can help manage not only events but also serves as an entry-level replacement for the printed program book at conferences, and features everything needed for a successful conference,” said Kunal Johar, chief technology officer of Arlington, Va.-based OpenWater.

The application also allows organizations to connect their CRM, event registration and marketing software to the app, while a single sign-on feature ensures that content is restricted to registered attendees.

ProgramBook supports integration with various third-party systems, including Salesforce, Personify, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Aptify.

Since 2007, OpenWater’s all-in-one software platform has helped scientific and medical organizations collect and review any type of application and provide for online review, including of abstracts, speakers, papers and posters. The platform runs approximately 12,000 awards programs around the world.
