MCI Group and Wyndham Hotel Group Join Forces in Global Strategic Partnership

October 26, 2017

MCI Group, professional conference organizer and provider of strategic planning and association management consulting for the international market, and Wyndham Hotel Group, one of three hospitality business units of Wyndham Worldwide, have announced a global strategic partnership agreement.

MCI Group works with corporate and association clients across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, India, the Middle East and Africa to deliver face-to-face, hybrid and digital experiences designed to strategically engage audiences and help build communities both online and offline.

Nearly 40 percent of MCI’s business is managing corporate meetings and events for more than 500 clients, 85 of which occupy the Fortune 500 list.

“MCI’s global partnership with Wyndham Hotels Group, which leveraged MCI’s hotel procurement volume, includes facilitated pre-approved contracting templates that enable corporate clients to secure access to the vast portfolio of Wyndham properties better, faster and cheaper,” explained Jodie Torriani, head of global procurement for MCI Group.

Wyndham Hotel Group will be added to the MCI preferred hotels partners database, becoming a key component of MCI’s meetings and incentives platform. Hotels under the Wyndham Hotel Group family of brands will receive priority invitations to respond to all MCI-managed groups, meetings and event leads.

This partnership will allow Wyndham hotels to offer standardized negotiated contract terms and additional incentives for MCI clients.

According to Richard Torriani, COO Americas for MCI Group, this is expected to be an important step in the company’s expansion.

“As we grow our footprint in the U.S., we are excited to expand our hotel reach through another worldwide hotel group partnership, but also with a strong American portfolio of brands and properties,” Torriani said.

Marc Stanley, vice president of global sales EMEA for Wyndham Hotel Group expanded on the benefits event planners will reap from the partnership.

“Our ‘Global Primary Preferred Agreement’ will greatly benefit both MCI’s clients and Wyndham Hotel Group’s fantastic portfolio of hotels,” Stanley said.

He continued, “Meeting and event planners will be able to easily seek competitive bids from thousands of hotels around the world, and our hotels will experience an increase in the volume and quality of MICE group business leads from one of the largest meeting and conference organizers in the world.”

Currently, the Wyndham Hotel Group global portfolio consists of more than 8,100 hotels and over 705,700 rooms in 79 countries.

Looking to the future, MCI officials said the company has plans to continue growing its strategic partnership portfolio in an effort to provide more and better options for its corporate and association clients.
