Louisville’s Galt House Hotel Joins Wyndham’s Trademark Collection as Largest Hotel in Portfolio

May 1, 2018

The Galt House, Louisville’s largest hotel, is joining the Trademark Collection by Wyndham as an independently owned soft-branded property.

The flagship hotel, which will begin a $80 million renovation this June, will be Wyndham Hotel Group’s largest single addition in North America.

Galt House Hotel is the largest downtown meeting, convention, and conference hotel in the region, with 1,310 guest rooms and 130,000 sq. ft. of event space that can host meetings of up to 3,000 attendees.

The hotel offers 53 meeting rooms, a 23,300 sq. ft. ballroom, a 16,000 sq. ft. ballroom and an exhibit hall with room for up to 64 8’ x 10’ booths.  A rooftop garden and terrace can also be rented for events.

Connected by skywalk to the Kentucky International Convention Center, the KFC Yum! Center, and The Belevedere outdoor meeting space and park, the Galt House is also just minutes from the Kentucky Exposition Center.

Planned renovations are designed to keep the hotel competitive in the convention and meeting markets. Major overhauls include reimagining guest rooms and public spaces with fresh design, furnishing and finishes inspired by the food, bourbon, horses and colors of Kentucky. The hotel will also introduce fresh culinary concepts to all dining concepts including three new restaurants.

“The Galt House has long been a historic icon, not only because it’s the largest hotel in the city but has built a prominent reputation as Louisville’s only riverfront hotel,” said Karen Williams, president & CEO of the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau.

She added, “This significant renovation and new partnership with Trademark Hotel Collection, within the Wyndham Hotel family, only strengthens our city’s hotel package and is perfectly timed to add to Louisville’s renaissance with the re-opening of the Kentucky International Convention Center.”

The Trademark Collection by Wyndham has a growing portfolio of nearly 70 global hotels. Launched last year, Trademark is a collection of upper-midscale-and-above hotels with fiercely independent spirit and individuality. It’s the first soft brand geared to independent hoteliers with landmark three- and four-star hotels designed for travelers seeking unique accommodations.
