Sandpearl Resort Unveils New “Seaside Chic” Guest Rooms

Just in time for the spring and summer beach-going seasons, Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Fla., completed a total makeover of its guest rooms and suites.

The new “Seaside Chic” guest rooms and living spaces have been upgraded with new flooring, carpets and rugs, paint, couches (all pull-outs for extra sleeping space), furnishings and other decorative appointments. Suites with kitchens boast new cabinetry, upgraded appliances and brand-new dishware serving up to six. Guest bathrooms also received a major makeover and now offer walk-in showers and soaking tubs.

The refreshed rooms feature a neutral tone color scheme, with light creams, sandy beiges and crisp whites layered with pops of sea-inspired blue shades in throw pillows and blankets, area rugs, bathroom walls and kitchen backsplashes. Blonde wooden floors run throughout the property, and luxurious white marble slabs top kitchen countertops, dining room tables and shelving in suites.

Additionally, coffee tables, TV consoles, bureaus and bedside tables now feature a mid-century feel, with clean lines and gentle curves, complemented by decorative elements, including driftwood and coral sculptures. Suite dining rooms have a new couch-like seating area adorned with an eye-catching chandelier, as well as added modern-day conveniences and comforts include new nightlight features under bathroom counters and mirrors, new venting systems guests can control and several USB outlets.

Offering 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, Sandpearl Resort is part of the Opal Collection of independently owned and operated luxury hotels and resorts, located in some of the most desirable destinations along the East Coast.

The Collection recently unveiled a vetted and curated list of opportunities for meeting and event groups wishing to engage in community involvement, teambuilding, sustainability practices and wellness programming. Available on the meetings page of each of its 20 hotels and resorts with meeting facilities, the curated “Experiences” programming is organized into four categories: Community, Energize, Sustainability and Wellness.

“Community” options include bike-building for the Boys & Girls Club, prepping hygiene kits for Clean the World, volunteering at a wildlife sanctuary or participating in a coral reef restoration project. Options in the “Energize” section include scavenger hunts, be-your-own-bartender classes, kayak excursions and sandcastle building competitions.

Groups interested in “Sustainability” will find opportunities for tree planting, beach cleanup, building a living Green Wall, maintaining trails with the Adirondack Mountain Club and sea turtle support along Florida’s Atlantic shores. Lastly, “Wellness” experiences include yoga and water aerobics classes, sound baths, salt therapy and more.

Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Ainahau Tower Renovation Nears Completion

Sheraton Princess Kaiulani

The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, located on the former site of the Ainahau Estate and once home to Hawaii’s Princess Victoria Kaiulani, is gearing up to complete the renovation of its 664-room Ainahau Tower. Scheduled for completion in June, the renovation project includes modern tropical redesigns of its guestrooms that emphasize and respect the history and story of Waikiki.

Following the completion and release of Ainahau Tower’s first group of redesigned guestrooms in January, the makeover is designed to bring contemporary, tropical, botanical surroundings and a uniquely fresh and colorful spirit to guests during their stay via a relaxing and beachy palette of interior colors, including papaya, mocha and sky-blue hues.

Designed by Hawaii-based, wahine-led design firm The Vanguard Theory, the updated rooms also include all-new platform beds, renewed ambient lighting and updated wall coverings, drapes and flooring. Local touches permeate throughout, with upholstery provided by native Hawaiian designer NOHO Home, and local artist Jenn Ellenburg’s photography featured in each room.

Drawing inspiration from Waikiki’s history, the rooms showcase Princess Kaiulani’s fashion, embrace natural landscapes and highlight the historical grounds and proximity to the beach, with special touches paying homage to carefully researched historical images, including the historic property’s original plantings and the pinstriping of Princess Kaiulani’s Mu‘umu‘u.

The renovation is concurrently nearing completion on upgraded lighting and signage in the Ainahau Tower’s room corridors while an upgrade of its lobby will begin this summer.

Just one block from world-famous Waikiki Beach and overlooking the Pacific and the lights of Waikiki, the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani features 14,451 square feet of flexible, customizable meeting and event space featuring a distinct, modern Hawaiian flair.
