July 18, 2022

Across North America, major hotel and resort companies are taking “bleisure” to a whole new level by unveiling new and renovated properties with plentiful meeting and event spaces in highly desirable locations. Take a look!

Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk

Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk

Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk recently celebrated its 40-year anniversary with the completion of a $38 million renovation that has transformed its 602 guestrooms, 28 suites, hotel corridors and elevator waiting areas to reflect an upscale urban property showcasing its premier location between the city’s most famous attractions: Alamo Plaza and the River Walk.

The finished project, which broke ground in early December 2021, includes updated guestrooms with open floor plans featuring an elevated and sophisticated aesthetic; floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing panoramic downtown views; hardwood floors complemented by modern amber-colored accent rugs; and a light and airy color palette with a denim accent wall and wooden hearth-inspired structure doubling as a wall mount for new 75-inch flatscreen TVs.

New amenities include updated mini-refrigerators, sleek furniture and convenient work center desks with installed lighting and built-in power access.

Behind gliding barn doors, guest bathrooms have been redesigned with luxury finishes including marble stand-up showers with premium sliding glass doors and dual rainfall and hand-held shower combination systems, a lighted vanity mirror and granite sinks and countertops.

Additionally, the hotel’s suites have been transformed to serve as dual-purpose spaces for luxury accommodations or entertainment locations for social gatherings and small events.

The atrium-style hotel also offers 37,000-square-feet of meeting and event space, including two ballrooms and 21 meeting rooms.

The property’s renovation took place in concert with the multi-year, multi-million dollar revitalization of Alamo Plaza, including the addition of a $15 million Alamo Exhibit Hall and Collections Building, which are set to open in fall of 2022.

Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton

Zachary Dunes on Mandalay Beach

As Southern California’s only all-suite oceanfront resort nestled between Malibu and Santa Barbara in Oxnard, Calif., Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton is set to make its debut this fall following a multi-million-dollar renovation.

The Spanish Hacienda-style resort is being reimagined as part of Curio Collection by Hilton, a global portfolio of more than 100 one-of-a-kind hotels and resorts handpicked for their independent and unique character. Formerly the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort, the 250-all-suite beachfront resort is now accepting reservations starting October 1.

Just a short, picturesque drive up the scenic California Gold Coast from Los Angeles, the reimagined resort will feature spacious accommodations, beachfront outdoor adventures, inspired culinary offerings and more than 23,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event spaces ideal for team meetings, corporate retreats or medium-sized conferences of up to 400 people.

Inspired by the ocean and surrounding natural beauty, the resort’s Ox & Ocean will offer Southern California-inspired cuisine and unique craft cocktails, while Sugar Beats, a converted Airstream trailer, will serve locally roasted coffee and on-the-go offerings in the morning, and locally crafted beers and canned cocktails each afternoon to accompany fresh-caught seafood and SoCal-inspired handhelds.

The property will also feature Henry’s Sundries and Gear Rental, a one-stop shop for outdoor adventures that will allow guests to borrow bicycles, boogie boards, GoPros, longboards, Hover boards and gaming systems.
