AC Hotel Montréal Centre-Ville Opens, Brand’s First Canadian Property

May 21, 2018

On Apr. 25, 2018, AC Hotels by Marriott opened its first Canadian property: AC Hotel Montréal Centre-Ville.

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Montreal on Boulevard René-Lévesque, just steps away from the Palais des congrès de Montréal (Montreal's convention center), the Quartier des Spectacles (entertainment district), and two city blocks from Old Montreal.

AC Hotel Montréal Centre-Ville is situated on the first twelve floors of a 35-story dual-use high-rise that also includes luxury apartments. The property offers 169 guestrooms with hardwood floors, large walk-in showers, floor to ceiling windows, and 50-inch HDTV.

"We are delighted to welcome AC Hotels by Marriott's first Canadian property to Montréal," said Don Cleary, president of Marriott International, Canada.

"AC Hotel Montréal Centre-Ville remains true to the brand's philosophy, which centers on creating thoughtfully designed moments that remind our entrepreneurial travelers to slow down and draw them into the present," he added.

The hotel features 5,900 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate 10 to 150 guests. Its seven meeting rooms contain the latest high-tech audio-visual equipment and offer natural lighting, with floor to ceiling windows. WiFi is free in guest rooms and throughout the meeting space.

Dining options include the AC Kitchen, home to the brand's signature European-inspired breakfast selection, La Palma, featuring Mediterranean-inspired cuisine by Chef David Capel, and AC Lounge for tapas-style appetizers and cocktails.

At AC Hotels, meeting attendees are offered the same benefits as hotel guests, including access to Montreal's only indoor 21-meter swimming pool, which offers a panoramic view of Old Montreal. The facilities also include a dry sauna, exterior terrace and exercise room.

Introduced to the U.S. in 2014, the AC Hotels by Marriott brand originated in Europe in 2011 as a joint venture with Spanish hotelier, Antonio Catalan, and now offers a portfolio of over 120 hotels in countries across Europe, Latin America and North America. Inspired by classic European design, the brand features simple, clean and crisp lines.
