AC Hotel Cincinnati at the Banks Joins Downtown Cincinnati Hotel Boom

November 9, 2017

On Oct. 27, the new AC Hotel Cincinnati at The Banks opened its doors. Located in The Banks riverfront development, the new hotel features 171 sleeping rooms and suites, many with balconies overlooking the Ohio River and Smale Riverfront Park.

The property offers three distinct meeting spaces, including two audiovisual-equipped media salons and an 888 square foot meeting room, which is ideal for small corporate meetings, training sessions or presentations. The hotel’s Upper Deck rooftop bar can also be used for receptions.

The Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau is excited about the new hotel, which will give visitors another great option when visiting the region, according to Dan Lincoln, the Cincinnati CVB president and CEO.

“For meetings in Cincinnati, connection is key, and the AC Hotel will allow attendees to connect both with each other and with the Cincinnati region,” said Barrie Perks, vice president of sales and services, Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau.

He continued, “With more than 800 square feet of meeting space and additional spaces like the courtyard or Upper Deck rooftop, groups are able to choose which setting best suits their small meetings or events. Plus, with its location at The Banks and close proximity to downtown Cincinnati, the AC Hotel connects planners to easy options for group programming.”

To make housing block management easier, event planners can take advantage of streamlined room booking and management services. The hotel can provide planners with a unique reservation link that makes it easy for guests to reserve their rooms, or can work from rooming lists provided by planners. Pick-up reports, showing available and booked inventory, are also provided.

AC Hotels by Marriott is Marriott’s European-influenced hotel line. Guests staying at the AC Hotel Cincinnati at the Banks can take full advantage of all the Marriott amenities, including collecting Marriott rewards points and using the hotel chain’s mobile app to check in and check out of their rooms, enabling them to skip the front desk lines.

“We are excited to bring this dynamic hotel to downtown Cincinnati,” said Tom Stapleton, senior vice president of Eagle Realty Group, the hotel’s developer.

He added, “The European inspiration of the design and the beverage and food is unlike any other hotel in the downtown market and has already been well received.”

The Banks, a recently-developed neighborhood in downtown Cincinnati, is a mixed-use office, retail and residential development that features local and national restaurants including the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and the GE Global Operations Center.

The AC Hotel is situated across from the Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds, with the Cincinnati Bell Connector streetcar a block away that can provide quick access to other downtown neighborhoods.

In the past five years, downtown Cincinnati has added more than 1,000 new hotel rooms. The AC Hotel is the sixth new hotel to have opened downtown in that time. Three additional new downtown hotels have either begun development or have been announced.
