BroadcastMed Acquires Digital Events Trailblazer Digitell

January 31, 2022

Digitell, a leading virtual and hybrid event platform and full-service production company, has been purchased by BroadcastMed, a healthcare intelligence company specializing in groundbreaking clinical content for healthcare professionals.

Both companies have longstanding reputations in their respective spaces. Digitell has been an innovative trailblazer in digital events for the past 14 years and was named Best Hybrid Event Platform/Production Over 1,000 Attendees at the 2021 Event Tech Live Awards. BroadcastMed was the first company in the world to live-stream surgeries, and its many clients currently include 12 of the Top 20 U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll Hospitals and eight of the top 10 global medical device and pharmaceutical companies.

Brian Zambotti, vice president, account management at Digitell, said the alliance will allow Digitell to further its mission to provide excellent client service and exceptional event execution.

“Digitell was seeking a partner that shared our culture and would support its strategic and technological initiatives,” he said. “This combined organization will allow for more resources to be available for event organizers to expand the white-glove service that has defined Digitell over the past three decades.”

In addition to more resources, the acquisition will also support a greater investment in Digitell’s award-winning OPUS DX platform, designed to meet the needs of association, corporate, government and for-profit event organizers, to keep it on the cutting edge, according to Zambotti.

“Our unified platform now provides our clients unrivaled virtual event tools, reporting and AI-driven audience insights that make our combined organization a heavyweight provider of virtual meetings and events,” he said.

Combined, the two companies will be able to provide clients with cutting-edge options in event curation and exhibition, and BroadcastMed’s database is also expanded to reach 1.7 million U.S. allied healthcare professionals.

“It is our strong belief that this alliance will bring about only positive changes for all stakeholders, especially our clients and the health care professionals they serve,” said Ross Joel, CEO and co-founder of BroadcastMed.

The unified companies will be stronger in a growing market space, according to Peter Gailey, president and co-founder of BroadcastMed.

“The increased resources will ensure that we can continue to provide quality service and innovative tools for our customers and clinicians,” he said.

The acquisition will allow BroadcastMed to reach its 2022 goals, including broadening service offerings for its extensive client base and increasing its audience to a vast array of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals.

While the acquisition will benefit all clients, clients in the healthcare space may reap even greater benefits, according to Zambotti.

“It will allow higher levels of production for our healthcare clients, including in-hospital presentations and live surgeries, where BroadcastMed has focused much of their live broadcast efforts,” Zambotti said. “BroadcastMed also has in-depth analytics and intelligence on the user, and their behavior patterns based on content they consume.”

He added, “We envision the possibility of expanding this capability from the healthcare space to all clients.”
